Anson Road
A generous side and rear extension to a post-war, semi-detached family home in north-somerset.
The existing ground floor spaces within the house were very cellular with an awkward kitchen and dining space that lacked a relationship with the garden. Studio Greens approach was to improve the quality of the ground floor by creating a large open plan space to the rear of the house with strong visual and physical connections to the garden space. Generously proportioned openings and skylights ensure high levels of natural light throughout.
Matching buff brick is used at the ground floor which helps to settle the extension and tie it in with the existing house. The elemental mass of the new bedroom at first floor is finished entirely in standing seam zinc cladding which provides an apt contrast from the brickwork of the existing house.
